A pioneer of abstraction, Otto Freundlich (1878 1943), at the beginning of his career in 1908, stayed at the Bateau Lavoir in Montmartre where he met Picasso, Braque and Delaunay. A committed and visionary artist, he carried a powerful message in favor of a reinvented humanism operating a synthesis between the arts, philosophy and politics. Stimulated in 1937, his works from the 1910s and 1920s were partly destroyed
