It comes from forest tea plants located between 1000 and 1400m above sea level in the Nyot Ou district of Phongsaly Province, bordering Xishuangbanna, an autonomous prefecture of China renowned for its pu ers. The tea plants have genetics close to those of Xishuangbanna. They are harvested by producers from the Yao villages of Ban Sehopene
