A 1st Infantry Battalion "Ontario Regiment" Cap Badge, by Hicks & Sons Newly Listed officially engraved to "Major DTwo piece construction, white metal insignia, mounted to a browning copper maple leaf base, maker marked "HICKS & SONS LONDON" on the reverse, measuring 44 mm (w) x 44. 3 mm (h), both lugs intact, spotting evident on the obverse, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Southwestern Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Camp Valcartier under the authority of P. C. O. 2067, August 6, 1914. The Battalion sailed October 3, 1914
