We arrived at this formula partly by instinctbecause we cut the pie into 4 pieces (we didnt think we could eat 8)and partly because 2 is a company, 3 is a crowd, but 4 is a party. Theres also the vague memory of someone once saying that one of the last freedoms to defend is that 2+2=4.
