The reverse bearing six Japanese characters. The medal is on its original period yellow ribbon with a hook and eye. It measures at 30mm in diameter and weighs 15. 3 grams (including ribbon). In extremely fine condition. Footnote: This medal was conferred upon Japanese individuals in recognition of contributions to the Coastal Defence Fund of 1887. The obverse Japanese
